"Thank you Barclay and Ester – you helped make this the best holiday our family has ever had."

Stephanie R, May 2019

"I found Casalone after several years of searching and it was love at first sight. Now I'm delighted that not only can my family enjoy this idyllic retreat but others in need of respite from their frantic lives can also relax here, with all the attractions of Tuscany within reach."

Casalone is pet friendly. There are no restrictions but we ask of course for you to clean up after them and respect the property as if it were your own. Please let us know at the time of booking if you're planning to bring your pet(s) with you.

Guests of all ages have enjoyed staying here but if you have particular accessibility requirements please bear in mind that this is an old, rural property, so you may want to check with us first whether it will be suitable.

The house is extremely well equipped for all of your self-catering needs. There's a supermarket in Greve, a few kilometres away, as well as specialist food shops (including the famous Antica Macelleria Falorni), a weekly market, weekly fishmonger, restaurants and a delicious pizza take-away. The kitchen contains non-perishable store cupboard items and the fridge can be stocked with fresh food for your arrival if you wish.

The accommodation has an unusual layout that suits families, couples or close friends. We recommend you consult the floor plans below to make sure it'll suit your needs or get in touch.

Before you arrive

We know there's an overwhelming choice of accommodation in Chianti, so if you have any questions that will help you decide whether Casalone is right for you, please ask. If you choose to book with us, Ester will be available to help plan your perfect vacation, from stocking the fridge with your favourite treats to providing local insight or assistance with organising excursions.

During your stay

Casalone is tricky to find, so you'll be met in either Greve or Badia a Passignano, depending where you're coming from, and escorted the rest of the way. Ester will then show you around, ensure you have everything you need, and make you feel instantly at home. You'll then be left in peace until departure day unless you've arranged to see Ester or need assistance with anything.
